Do's and Don'ts of Creating Digipacks

In order to create a professional looking digipack, there are some do's and don'ts that I must follow and keep in mind when I am using photoshop to edit my digipack.

Do's

  • Use the rule of 3rds to structure the design
  • Include genre appropriate record label logos
  • Use images that are relevant to the genre
  • Choose a maximum of 3 colours for your colour scheme as you don't want to go over the top.

Don'ts

  • Put texts over images of the artist
  • Stretch your images (it will make the artist look strange and stretched)
  • Choose a font because it looks nice
  • Use effects and filters that may cause your digipack to look unprofessional and that are genre inappropriate
